In unison with the focus on evangelism by the worldwide Seventh-day Adventist Church in the year 2014, we challenge young people to be part of iMPACT 2014: youth run, youth led public evangelistic series in their local church, area, town or city.
iMPACT 2014 is a resourcing project that equips young people and local churches for public evangelism. The aim is for young people to work alongside the local church pastor and other ministerial church members throughout the course of this project, to prepare for and run a public
evangelistic event for the proclamation of the Gospel.
iMPACT 2014 is a national project, recognised by the AUC, under the governance of the AUC Evangelist, Pr Geoff Youlden, and is provided as an option for the youth of Australia to undertake a public evangelistic project.
It is meant to couple alongside the plans of AYC re:mobilise to see young people inspired and equipped to run a public evangelistic effort in their local church with the support of their local ministerial mentors.
Mission ’72 was a year which saw the largest number of baptisms ever seen to that time in Australia. It was a systematic public evangelistic project run in every local church around the country which produced unimaginable results through God’s blessings. The project was preceded by the ‘Year of the Layman’ in 1971 which focused on the training of local SDA churches for evangelism.
42 long years later, and with the growing interest of lay members, and especially the youth, in soul-winning, we seek to do the same again in 2014. It is time to make an iMPACT for Jesus in Australia. It is time to see our youth doing their God-given work in carrying His message to the world.

Surely the time has come for the Seventh-day Adventist Church to make a major impact [emphasis added] on the vast population of the earth. As independent churches, each left to develop and conduct its own little program, this is impossible. But in the cooperative effort of all churches, conferences, and institutions, using the advantages of mass printings, national advertising media, and more important than all, the combined witness of every Seventh-day Adventist minister and layman, young and old, we may expect tremendous results.
~Orley M. Berg, Ministry, 1971
